【Background of Connector Support】
For users who want to operate a VPS using Claude, or for engineers who want to quickly work with development and testing servers, ease of adopting AI integration is an important factor. Until now, however, operating external services from an AI agent has generally required users to install software on their own device and configure API credentials themselves.
Amid this, “ConoHa VPS byGMO” became the first domestic cloud provider to offer a remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, starting July 7, 2026, realizing an environment in which a VPS can be operated from an AI agent without any installation（※3）.However, to begin using the service, it was still necessary to check the connection URL and register it as a custom connector on the “Claude” side.
This time, following review by Anthropic and listing in the connector directory, “Claude” users can now connect simply by selecting “ConoHa VPS byGMO” from the list and authenticating with their ConoHa account. This eliminates the need to check connection information or perform individual configuration, allowing operations such as displaying a list of VPS instances, stopping them, and creating new ones to be carried out in natural language. Specifically, users can operate their VPS simply by giving instructions in Japanese such as “Show me a list of my current servers,” “Stop the testing server,” or “Create a server with Ubuntu 24.04 and 1GB of memory.”

As the first domestic cloud provider to be listed in the directory, “ConoHa VPS byGMO” can now be operated from any of the “Claude” Web version, desktop app, or mobile app.

1.Can be added from the Claude directory listing, reducing the effort of initial setup
Users can connect simply by opening the connector directory listing page（URL：https://claude.ai/directory/connectors/conoha-vps）or searching for “ConoHa VPS byGMO” in the search field, and then authenticating with their ConoHa account. There is no need to look up and enter connection URLs or parameters individually, and no configuration file editing is required.
2.Integration is possible without manually registering credentials
Because authentication and authorization are performed via the ConoHa account at the time of integration, there is no need to register or store credentials such as the ConoHa API password or tokens on the “Claude” side. Users can review the scope of permissions requested at the time of authentication and grant access to begin using the service.
3.Supports key VPS management operations
Operations supported by the remote MCP server — including server creation, startup, stopping, deletion, and resizing, network and security settings, and management of SSH key pairs and volumes — can be used as they are.
4. No software installation or configuration management required on each device used
Because the connector runs on servers operated by GMO Internet, there is no need for users to install software on their devices or manage versions. Feature additions and improvements are reflected through server-side updates, so users always have access to the latest version. In addition, because management is handled on a per-account basis, once added, the same configuration can be used from the Web version, desktop app, or mobile app alike. There is no need to reconfigure settings on each device.
【Pricing】
There is no charge for using the connector or the remote MCP server itself. However, standard “ConoHa VPS byGMO” charges apply when servers are created, started, resized, or when volumes are created through these features. In addition, charges for using “Claude” follow the pricing plan of its service provider.
【Future Outlook】
Through the availability of “ConoHa VPS byGMO,” GMO Internet has further lowered the barrier to connecting AI agents with server infrastructure.
