[Announcement] GMO Internet Launches "TeleWarp," a Smartphone Extension Service — Make and receive calls on your smartphone using your existing landline number, from anywhere. Transforming the way small businesses work. —

GMO Internet, Inc. (President & Representative Director: Tadashi Ito; hereinafter "GMO Internet"), a member of the GMO Internet Group, has launched "TeleWarp"(※1) ([https://gmobb.jp/biz/telwarp/](https://gmobb.jp/biz/telwarp/)) — a smartphone extension service wholesaled by JPIX Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & Representative Director: Akihiro Tsuru) — through its internet connectivity service "GMO BIZ Access," effective May 7, 2026.

With a simple setup requiring only a dedicated device, the service allows users to make and receive calls on their smartphones from any location, while retaining their existing 10-digit landline number beginning with a regional area code. For storefronts and small businesses that frequently receive reservations and inquiries via landline, missed calls during business hours or while staff are away can lead to lost sales opportunities and customer churn. TeleWarp addresses these challenges with no construction work required and deployment possible in as little as five business days. A fixed monthly fee covers all essential business communication features, including extensions, voicemail, and after-hours guidance.

(※1) TeleWarp is a service developed and provided by Foresta Co., Ltd.

[Background to the Launch of TeleWarp]

"I just called the shop, but no one picked up."

For storefronts and small businesses that rely heavily on landlines for reservations and inquiries, a single missed call can easily result in a cancelled booking or a lost lead.

Missing incoming calls while out of the office or away from the store directly translates to lost business opportunities. At the same time, traditional business phone systems have long remained out of reach for small operators, with equipment costs and complex configurations posing significant barriers to adoption.

GMO Internet is launching TeleWarp as an affordable, user-friendly solution designed to address exactly these challenges.

[Key Features of TeleWarp]

① Plug in and start using it right away**

Simply connect the dedicated device "TeleWarp Cube" to the LAN port of your home gateway — setup is complete. Phone number provisioning and extension configuration are handled automatically, so no technical expertise is required. Please note that use of this service requires an active "Hikari Denwa"(※2) (fiber optic phone) subscription provided by NTT East, NTT West, or a fiber collaboration service provider.

② Make and receive calls from anywhere using your existing landline number**

Through the dedicated app, users can make and receive calls using their office landline number from any location. Extension calls and transfers are handled via VoIP, with no additional call charges. The adoption of a proprietary protocol ensures stable connectivity, call quality, and security.

③ All the business features you need, bundled at a fixed monthly rate
Standard features include extension calling, call hold and transfer, voicemail, after-hours guidance, and absence announcements — all included as standard. With a fixed monthly fee, the more you use it, the greater the cost savings.
(※2) "Hikari Denwa," a fiber-optic IP phone service provided by NTT East Corporation, NTT West Corporation, and fiber collaboration service providers, is a registered trademark of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation.

[For Business Owners Facing These Challenges]

TeleWarp is the ideal solution for small businesses such as the following:

- Professional service firms, real estate agencies, construction companies, and similar businesses operated by a small team of around 1 to 3 people
- Restaurants, clinics, service businesses, and other operations that regularly receive reservation and inquiry calls
- Storefronts, factories, and on-site service providers where staff are frequently away from the location of the landline phone

[Future Plans]

GMO Internet will further strengthen its capacity to deliver an end-to-end solution — from internet connectivity to smartphone extension environments — by combining the infrastructure of GMO BIZ Access with TeleWarp.

As remote work becomes more widespread and labor shortages grow more acute, enabling landline calls on smartphones has become an essential challenge for businesses of all industries and sizes. Through this service, GMO Internet will support the advancement of ICT (Information and Communications Technology) adoption among businesses, helping build a foundation that allows operators to focus on their core business.
