“Hotel ReViewn by GMO,” a curated review site focused on Wi-Fi speed in accommodations, celebrates its 1st anniversary! — Launching the “Viewn Across Japan Campaign” in collaboration with 19 companies nationwide —

GMO Internet, Inc. (President and Chief Executive Officer: Tadashi Ito; hereinafter “GMO Internet”), a member of GMO Internet Group, Inc., will celebrate the first anniversary of its review site “Hotel ReViewn by GMO” (URL: https://hotel-reviewn.com/
), which supports users in choosing the best accommodations, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. To commemorate this milestone, the “Viewn Across Japan Campaign,” themed around various regions of Japan, will be held from Saturday, March 8, 2025 to Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

This campaign will feature two initiatives running simultaneously: a review submission campaign on the website, and a collaborative campaign conducted in partnership with the official X (formerly Twitter) accounts of 19 companies from across Japan that have ties to different regions.

[Background of the “Viewn Across Japan Campaign”]

With the spread of social media and video streaming, travelers are placing greater importance on choosing accommodations based on “authentic experience reviews.” In particular, Wi-Fi speed has become an essential factor for business use and video streaming. Against this backdrop, GMO Internet launched “Hotel ReViewn by GMO” on May 27, 2024, and over the past year has accumulated not only Wi-Fi speed information but also a wealth of detailed insights based on real lodging experiences. This enables us to provide customers with firsthand information that can only be obtained by actually staying at the property, helping them choose more comfortable and optimal accommodations.

In addition, the X (formerly Twitter) account operated by “Hotel ReViewn by GMO” (@hotel_reviewnP) shares seasonal event information, Wi-Fi details of nearby hotels, and collaborative initiatives with official accounts of companies it regularly engages with, gaining support from over 29,000 followers (*1). This has helped expand information outreach to a wide audience while strengthening new communication opportunities and regional connections through partner companies.

In celebration of these achievements and the first anniversary, and as a token of appreciation to our valued customers, we are launching two campaigns under the “Viewn Across Japan Campaign.”

Internet connectivity while on the go is no longer just a matter of convenience—it is a key factor that can significantly impact the quality of both daily life and business. “Hotel ReViewn by GMO” is an information site designed to help users enjoy a comfortable internet experience just like at home, by clearly presenting average Wi-Fi speeds based on actual user connections and suggesting suitable internet uses such as video streaming and video calls. In addition to Wi-Fi speed, the platform also offers detailed, user-focused reviews, providing a new way to choose accommodations.

① A new way to choose hotels with a focus on Wi-Fi speed
“Hotel ReViewn by GMO” provides integrated information combining hotel data with insights from “TownWiFi by GMO” (*3), which records over 700 million Wi-Fi connections annually. By focusing on Wi-Fi speed and clearly presenting speed variations by time of day as well as recommended internet usage (such as video streaming and video calls), the service helps users who prioritize internet connectivity—such as business users and those who frequently use social media or streaming—select the most suitable accommodations.

(*3) “TownWiFi by GMO” is a free app provided by GMO TownWiFi, Inc. that automatically connects users to over 900,000 free Wi-Fi spots across Japan, including convenience stores, cafes, and commercial facilities. It has surpassed 25 million downloads (as of February 20, 2025) as a cost-saving app that also allows users to earn points.

② Extensive “detailed reviews” including room and surrounding facility information
The “detailed reviews” feature provides information not only on in-room amenities such as bed firmness, pillow comfort, number of power outlets, and shower water pressure, but also on sauna facilities (dry, mist, auto loyly), coin laundry availability, invoice system compatibility for receipts, and nearby convenience stores. “Hotel ReViewn by GMO” aims to be a community where real user voices—“Glad this was available!” and “This is exactly what I needed!”—can be gathered and discovered.

③ Integrated with “GMO ID” used by 29.7 million users (*4), earn points by posting reviews
“GMO ID” is a common ID that can be used across multiple services within GMO Internet Group, such as “GMO Tokutoku BB” and “Kumapon by GMO.” Users with a “GMO ID” can log in to “Hotel ReViewn by GMO” without any initial setup and post “detailed reviews.” By submitting a review, users can earn up to 20 GMO Points (*5) per post (1 point = 1 yen). These points can be used across various affiliated services (*6), including cash exchange and shopping.
