【Background of the Service】
VPS servers (virtual private servers) have become an essential part of today’s digital society, serving as infrastructure for operating websites and applications, building development environments, and supporting corporate systems. Traditionally, managing VPS servers via a WebUI (Web User Interface) is intuitive and easy to use, but it lacks integration with other tools, making it difficult to automate the management of multiple servers. On the other hand, while command-line operations enable automation and scripting, they require complex command structures and specialized knowledge.
To address this, as a new approach that combines the ease of use of WebUI with the flexibility and automation capabilities of the command line, GMO Internet, Inc. has developed a beta feature for “ConoHa VPS” that supports MCP, enabling server operations through natural language interaction with AI agents—an industry-first initiative among domestic cloud providers. This feature will be released as open source on GitHub ( https://github.com/gmo-internet/conoha_vps_mcp
). With MCP, natural language instructions can be translated into server operations, allowing even complex configurations to be executed interactively. As a result, efficient server management becomes possible even without specialized knowledge.

With this MCP support, the main features enabled for building server environments with “ConoHa VPS” are as follows:

These features enable more intuitive server operations—such as creating and deleting servers—by leveraging AI agents. For example, if a user inputs “Create one server with 4 cores,” the AI will automatically build a new server on the user’s behalf. This mechanism allows for intuitive server management without requiring traditional command-line operations or API knowledge.
Furthermore, if a user requests “Recommend an optimal server configuration,” the AI analyzes the best combination of CPU, memory, and storage based on the intended use and proposes an optimal setup. Users can then seamlessly proceed to server creation using the recommended configuration.

【Future Developments】
With MCP support for “ConoHa VPS,” users can now achieve highly flexible utilization without being constrained by traditional operation methods. 【About “ConoHa VPS”】
“ConoHa VPS” is a VPS service provided by GMO Internet, Inc. under “ConoHa by GMO,” which has over 750,000 registered accounts (*4). It delivers a high-performance server environment by utilizing the latest CPUs and ultra-fast NVMe SSDs (*5) in data centers located in Japan. In addition to adopting a distributed storage architecture (*6), it comes standard with an automatic failover function (HA function) (*7), ensuring a highly available environment.
