VALUE

GMOism

"GMOism" is the shared value foundation that we cherish the most. It is a collective term for the corporate philosophy and guiding principles of the GMO Internet Group.

This GMOism is centered around the "Venture Spirit Declaration", which systematizes the entrepreneurial spirit inherited since our founding in 1995 into our "Dream," "Vision," and "Philosophy." The "Venture Spirit Declaration" clearly defines our purpose, our role in society, and the business strategies and action guidelines necessary to achieve them.

GMO Internet Group shares and upholds GMOism among each of its partners(*), aligning everyone toward the same goals. As a corporate group committed to growth over a span of 100 years, we contribute to society and dedicate ourselves to sustainable development.

* At GMO Internet Group, we refer to our employees as partners.

The Story Behind Our Domain

internet.gmo

"internet.gmo" embodies the very vision of GMO Internet.

GMO Internet has adopted "internet.gmo" as its corporate domain to shape the future of the internet and create a world where everyone can fully harness its potential.

As the first ICANN-accredited registrar in Asia, GMO Internet has supported the foundation of the internet and contributed to its growth for over 20 years through "onamae.com byGMO," Japan's No.1(*) domain registration service. With the liberalization of gTLDs (generic Top-Level Domains) in 2012, we acquired ".gmo," a rare corporate brand domain on a global scale.

Corporate brand domains are increasingly being adopted as a new brand strategy in both online and offline marketing. In 2026, the application process for new gTLDs, including corporate brand domains, is set to commence. Through the utilization of the corporate brand gTLD ".gmo," we will continue to support the digital strategies of businesses and brands.

* Compiled based on figures published by ICANN (a non-profit organization that manages internet domain names and other resources) as of May 2024.
